HOODED robbers, armed with a stun gun, raided a store in Matchborough this morning. At around 9.20am, two offenders, one holding what has been described as a stun gun, have entered the Costcutters store in the Matchborough Centre, approached the female cashier and demanded cash. They hthen left the premises, joining a third person on a quad bike, which was driven off along Matchborough Way. The offenders are said to be three males in dark clothing with hoods and scarves around their faces while the quad bike was red and black. DS Mark Roberts from Redditch CID said: “Fortunately no one was seriously injured during this robbery but a substantial sum of money was stolen and it’s vital that we identify those involved. “We are appealing for anyone who was near the Matchborough Centre and saw anything that might be related to the incident to give us a call at the earliest opportunity. “We believe that the quad bike was unloaded from a white van in nearby Binton Close before the robbery and was reloaded into the van in Farnborough Close shortly afterwards. This van may also have had ladders loaded on it. “We’d urge anyone who noticed such a van in the area, or saw or heard the quad bike around the time of the incident, to get in touch.” Anyone with information is asked to call Redditch CID on 0300 333 3000 (quoting incident 97-S-170210) or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. redditchadvertiser.co.uk
