PLANS for a new hotel proposed in Redditch town centre were on display for residents to see this week. Kingfisher Centre owners Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (SWIP) want to build the 92-bedroom hotel in land to the side of Station Way between Car Parks 1 and 3 and invited residents and businesses to take an up-close look at the plans yesterday (Thursday) in the bus station lobby. Peter Webb, senior investment manager for SWIP, said: "Redditch is a town with huge potential - that is why we are keen to invest in making sure its shopping, parking and leisure facilities match its ambitions. "We believe that a contemporary hotel will enhance the town, not only for visitors, but also for those who live and work in Redditch." Feedback from the public exhibition which will help fine tune the final planning application, which is expected to go before the borough council shortly.
