AS part of a special new year sale bus users in Redditch have until February 28 to enjoy bargain bus travel around town.

For the next six weeks First bus customers buying tickets on the number 57/58 (Redditch to Matchborough and back) will enjoy more than 35 per cent off the price of FirstDay tickets and more than 20 per cent off FirstWeek tickets.

Once bought, both tickets offer unlimited travel on all First buses in the town for the period of validity, and can be used on Red Diamond’s evening bus services too.

Steve Zanker, commercial director for First Midlands, said: “This January we’ve seen lots of prices rise, VAT has been increased and petrol prices are creeping up again.

“Contrary to all this we are offering some of our customers the chance to save money.

“These tickets offer people the chance to travel anywhere on the First network in Redditch for as little as 71 pence a day.”

To take advantage of the promotion, which cuts the price of the FirstDay ticket to just £1 and the FirstWeek to just £5, customers need to buy the tickets from the drivers on the 57/58 buses.
